Join us for an evening of film and conversation. The Akron-Summit County Public Library and Reelabilities Film Festival: Cleveland & Akron will be hosting a film called “Being Michelle” which will be followed by a community talk out touching accessibility, inclusion, and the criminal justice system.

Film Summary: The astonishing story of a woman who survived incarceration in a system that refused to accommodate her needs as a deaf person with autism. Michelle’s trajectory changed when she met Kim Law, a blind life coach who teaches in the prison. A story of redemption, this award-winning film is about the bonds between two women committed to thriving in a broken system and forging a path to healing.

Parking: Free parking is available in the High and Market Street deck on weekends and parking is free Monday-Friday after 6pm with a voucher from the Library.  Front door drop off is available on South High Street for Akron ReelAbilities Film events at the Akron-Summit County Public Library and the Akron Art Museum.
