REELABILITIES UNVEILS NEW LOGO + ANNOUNCES NEW WEBSITE COMING SOON
ReelAbilities is thrilled to unveil a bold, new look that reflects our mission and values.
New Look, Same Mission!
ReelAbilities is proud to introduce our new look!
For 17 years, ReelAbilities has elevated groundbreaking stories from disability communities, and our new look continues this mission. Think of it not as a rebrand, but more of a refresh. Remaining true to our core values while committing to a bolder, broader future beyond conventional narratives or approaches.
Our New Tagline: “Reframing Disability”
We chose “Reframing Disability” as our tagline because it communicates our evolving mission with precision and purpose. If you’ll allow us to get just a bit nerdy about it, let us explain why.
As we imagine and intend it, the phrase works on multiple levels:
First, “Reframing Disability” invites audiences to broaden their perspective on disability, encouraging them to see beyond conventional narratives. You know, the whole tragic/heroic thing. Second, it takes an active stance in rethinking representation, incorporating community engagement and frontloads our ongoing commitment to meaningful change. Third, it connects naturally to our established core focus on film and entertainment.
Most importantly, it embraces the full spectrum of disability experiences, ensuring our work remains expansive, inclusive, and welcoming to all.
The Design Elements
Our new logo features orange brackets framing the ReelAbilities name—a deliberate choice that reinforces our mission of, you guessed it, reframing existing disability narratives. The slightly off-center positioning of these brackets represents our forward-thinking approach and commitment to pushing conversations beyond often limited, existing constraints.
Looking Forward
This refresh represents more than just a visual change—it’s a renewed commitment to our established mission to support transformative storytelling through film and entertainment. Showcasing expansive narratives that showcase creativity, increase opportunity, and improve access as we continue building a more inclusive world.
Our new website, launching soon, will build upon these common goals and objectives.
Let us know what you think!
