ReelAbilities Film Festival: New York is honored to partner with NYU Program Board on a university-wide film competition open the NYU student community, including the recent Class of 2019 graduates for films made by, for, and about people with disabilities in an effort to support emerging filmmakers to share stories to promote inclusion and diversity in the film industry.

Judges

Alice Elliott – Academy Award nominated director and Distinguished Teacher at NYU Tisch.
Jason DaSilva –  Emmy Award winning director, disability rights activist, and entrepreneur.
Faye Ginsburg – Director of the NYU Center for Media, Culture and History and Co-director of the NYU Center for Disabilities.

Awards & Prizes

  • Winner: $1,000 award; Competition Memorabilia; have the short screened as part of the ReelAbilities Film Festival: New York 2020; ReelAbilities Film Festival Passes.
  • Runner-up: $500 award; Competition Memorabilia; have the short screened as part of the ReelAbilities Film Festival: New York 2020; ReelAbilities Film Festival Passes.
  • Crowd Favorite: Competition Memorabilia; have the short screened at ReelAbilities Film Festival: New York 2020; ReelAbilities Film Festival Passes.
