DEIA Statement

ReelAbilities is unwaveringly committed to advancing diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility both on and off the screen. These foundational values serve as the compass guiding every facet of our organization. We persistently endeavor to enhance and refine these principles within our organizational structure, the film industry, and our society.

ReelAbilities has evolved beyond a film festival into a multifaceted disability advocacy organization that brings to light and public awareness a variety of social issues and marginalized communities within the disability experience, ranging from ableism, racism, sexism, ageism, through gender, socio-economic and religious discrimination.
As champions of diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility, our commitment extends beyond merely showcasing the narratives of marginalized communities in our programs. We actively seek to cultivate representation that embraces intersectionality within our organization and team, fostering an inclusive and accessible environment where individuals of diverse talents can thrive and contribute their best work.

As ReelAbilities embarks on a new chapter, transitioning to an independent non-profit organization in 2024, we are resolute in implementing our diversity and inclusion strategy. Our pledge is to fortify diversity throughout our organization, ensuring that it reflects the rich tapestry of perspectives that defines our global community. This commitment is an integral part of our ongoing journey, emphasizing our steadfast dedication to creating a world where everyone’s story is heard and valued.
