An evening of humor, activism, and love with Patrice Jetter: disabled artist and advocate from Netflix’s WORN STORIES.
On the heels of Valentine’s Day, Patrice Jetter will officiate a mass (low commitment) commitment ceremony and all are invited to participate! Wear your festive wedding attire to demand marriage equality for all. Serious couples, first dates, and even just friends are welcome to join. Allies and spectators, please come too!

IF DISABLED AMERICANS MARRY, THEY WILL LOSE THEIR BENEFITS.

Interracial and gay marriage has been codified at last. But disabled Americans remain excluded from this basic right. The federal “marriage penalty” affects the lives of millions of disabled Americans who can’t legally marry because they will lose their benefits. A new bill in the Senate could change the “marriage penalty” if enough people speak out.

The event is wheelchair accessible and includes ASL, audio description, and remote access. If you have specific accessibility questions, please email: [email protected] For other questions please contact: [email protected]

This event is presented by the Montclair State University Disability Caucus, ReelAbilities NJ Film Festival, and the Office for Social Justice and Diversity.

This event is hybrid, it is offered both in person and online. Register now to reserve your seat.
