ReelAbilities strives to include and be accessible to all. All films are presented with open captions and available audio description, and all venues are accessible to mobility devices.
A visual story is a form of access created for neurodivergent (i.e. autistic) people. It provides pre-event text and image explanations on what to expect the day of an event (i.e. physical venue, run of events).
For virtual screenings – all films will be streamed virtually on Eventive with open captions and will have audio description versions available. To watch a film with audio description, click the gear in the bottom right corner of your viewing window (after beginning the film). Under the Audio Track dropdown menu, select “Audio Description.” The audio description will automatically begin.
All in-person events will feature the following forms of accessibility:
- Open captions on all films
- Audio description through personal listening devices (pick up at entrance to theater)
- Live captioning (CART) for intro/Q+As/conversations
- ASL interpretation intro/Q+As/conversations
- Hearing assist and Listen Everywhere app (details below)
