River Zhang is a documentary filmmaker, video journalist, and editor. Her first independent documentary follows a blind reggaeton artist’s journey in embracing her disability identity. River sees the camera as her gateway to exploring human experiences and hopes her storytelling can offer new perspectives. Apart from filmmaking, River is a video journalist at the Associated Press based in their DC bureau covering politics and social issue. She holds an MA in News & Documentary and a BA in Cinema Studies at New York University.
