Sofiya Cheyenne

How We Look Project

Sofiya Cheyenne is a New York based multi-disciplinary artivist, producer, writer, community organizer and disability-access consultant. She believes deeply in amplifying the voices and stories of disabled peoples through art and storytelling, especially those with dwarfism. As an actress, she has appeared on episodic shows such as Netflix’s “Loudermilk” (dir: Farrelly Brothers), “StartUP” (dir: Ben Ketai) and TrueTV's “At Home With Amy Sedaris” (dir: Ryan McFaul). As a producer and writer, she has written and directed short films “You’re Up” and “Inspiring Women” as part of the Easterseals Disability Film Challenge. She is a passionate advocate and continues to invest in projects that challenge societal norms, combat ableism and break barriers. She recently executive produced the new documentary entitled “The Tallest Dwarf” alongside filmmaker Julie Wyman. Sofiya is a Co-Chair of The Dwarf Artist Coalition of Little People of America.
