Scott Alexander Ruderman is an award winning documentary film director and cinematographer whose work spans Netflix, BBC Studios, HBO, Paramount+, PBS, CBS, and Discovery+. He was named a 2024 DocNYC 40 Under 40 honoree and serves on the board of the ReelAbilities Film Festival. Ruderman’s directorial debut Pay or Die (2023), executive produced by Sheila Nevins, premiered at SXSW, was acquired by MTV Documentary Films, and won Best Documentary Feature at Flickers— Rhode Island International Film Festival, a 2024 SIMA Award, and the Cinema for Peace Dove in Global Health Award. The film is now streaming on Paramount+. As a cinematographer, his recent work includes The Quilters (Netflix), Oscar shortlisted in 2025, and Jimmy & The Demons (Tribeca 2025).
